Lyrics
Verse 1:
I’m still gonna sing, when the walls are closing in
I’m still gonna kneel, when my strength wearing thin
I’m still gonna rise, when I trip and when I fall
I’m still gonna praise, when I can’t see the road at all
Chorus:
Nothing but praise
Will be my intention, it’s my devotion
Nothing but praise
I give my attention, You’re my redemption
Verse 2:
I’m still gonna hope, when I’m feeling all afraid
I’m still gonna trust, in the promises You’ve made
I’m still gonna drink, from the life You’re giving me
I’m still gonna walk, in the truth You’ve set me free
Bridge:
Whatever comes, I sing worthy, You are worthy
To the King on high, I sing holy, You are holy
Lord over all, I give honour, I give honour
My Saviour lives, I give glory, I give (all) glory!
Behind the song
3rd song from my praise EP ‘House Of Praise’ The themes of this song are built around God being worthy of our praise even in the difficult places, when walls surround us and we feel there is no way out. In those times we usually have to make a conscious decision to praise as we most likely don’t feel like it because of the circumstances we are experiencing. The chorus lyrics speak of praise being something we have to give our attention to and are also an intention; we choose to praise even if we don’t feel like it much like the psalmist in Psalm 42:11.
